De olho no mercado de telecom no Nordeste, a Algar anunciou nesta segunda-feira, 25/3, que vai comprar a pernambucana Smart Networks. Segundo o comunicado, o negócio, aprovado em reunião do Conselho de Administração da operadora na sexta, 22/3, será fechado por até R$ 49,8 milhões.
“O objeto é a compra pela Companhia da totalidade das quotas representativas do capital social da empresa Smart Telecomunicações e Serviços Ltda, visando dar seguimento ao plano de expansão da atuação da Companhia na Região Nordeste do País”, informa a Algar.
No documento a tele explica que a transação poderá, “dependendo de eventos futuros, atingir o valor limite de até R$49,8 milhões”. “A Companhia informa que a transação não representa investimento relevante, nos termos da legislação vigente e, nem afetará de forma significativa os resultados financeiros e/ou contábeis consolidados da Companhia”, completa.
A Algar tem o núcleo de suas operações no Sudeste, mas atua em 15 estados. A Smart Telecom aparece com cerca de 4 mil acessos de SCM segundo dados da Anatel, mas possui clientes de peso como as unidades de pronto atendimento e os tribunais de Justiça do estado. É, também, uma das fornecedores ao projeto Pernambuco Conectado, além de ser a empresa escolhida para fornecer o ponto de acesso do projeto Ix.br, do Comitê Gestor da Internet, em Pernambuco.
